Review by hotel critic
If you're looking for a cozy retreat while exploring the Isle of Wight, I can wholeheartedly recommend Newport Quay Bed & Breakfast. Nestled in a quiet street, it provides a perfect escape after a day of marine exploration, and I couldn't have asked for a better place to relax with my travel companion. The welcoming hosts, Hendrik and Ethel, ensured we felt right at home, making our stay incredibly fulfilling. I particularly loved enjoying breakfast in the charming dining room, complete with a grand fireplace that exuded warmth and comfort, perfect for someone like me who values a good meal after a morning of diving. The selection was ample and delicious, offering everything from hearty cooked options to lighter choices-exactly what you need before heading out to discover the island's incredible coastal scenery. Plus, the location couldn't be more convenient, as it's just a short stroll from charming shops, eateries, and the beautiful quay. Returning from the day's adventures while sipping on a sundowner in the peaceful courtyard was an absolute highlight. It's a delightful space that feels almost like a well-kept secret-just right for unwinding and reflecting on the day's explorations. Newport Quay reminded me of the importance of eco-friendly accommodations, being situated in an intriguing Grade II listed building, yet perfectly modern in amenities and atmosphere. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
